Automobile and Beauty Girls

An automobile, autocar, motor car or car is a wheeled motor vehicle used for transporting passengers, which also carries its own engine or motor. Most definitions of the term specify that automobiles are designed to run primarily on roads, to have seating for one to eight people, to typically have four wheels, and to be constructed principally for the transport of people rather than goods.
The term motorcar has also been used in the context of electrified rail systems to denote a car which functions as a small locomotive but also provides space for passengers and baggage. These locomotive cars were often used on suburban routes by both interurban and intercity railroad systems.

There are approximately 600 million passenger cars worldwide (roughly one car per eleven people). Around the world, there were about 806 million cars and light trucks on the road in 2007; they burn over a billion cubic meters (260 billion US gallons) of petrol/gasoline and diesel fuel yearly. The numbers are increasing rapidly, especially in China and India.

The word automobile comes, via the French automobile, from the Ancient Greek word αὐτός (autós, "self") and the Latin mobilis ("movable"); meaning a vehicle that moves itself, rather than being pulled or pushed by a separate animal or another vehicle. The alternative name car is believed to originate from the Latin word carrus or carrum ("wheeled vehicle"), or the Middle English word carre ("cart") (from Old North French), or from the Gaulish word karros (a Gallic Chariot)
The first working steam-powered vehicle was probably designed by Ferdinand Verbiest, a Flemish member of a Jesuit mission in China around 1672. It was a 65 cm-long scale-model toy for the Chinese Emperor, that was unable to carry a driver or a passenger. It is not known if Verbiest's model was ever built.
In 1752, Leonty Shamshurenkov, a Russian peasant, constructed a human-pedalled four-wheeled "auto-running" carriage, and subsequently proposed to equip it with odometer and to use the same principle for making a self-propelling sledge.
Nicolas-Joseph Cugnot is widely credited with building the first self-propelled mechanical vehicle or automobile in about 1769; he created a steam-powered tricycle. He also constructed two steam tractors for the French Army, one of which is preserved in the French National Conservatory of Arts and Crafts. His inventions were however handicapped by problems with water supply and maintaining steam pressure.[15] In 1801, Richard Trevithick built and demonstrated his Puffing Devil road locomotive, believed by many to be the first demonstration of a steam-powered road vehicle. It was unable to maintain sufficient steam pressure for long periods, and was of little practical use.

Mercedes Maybach Rolls Royce Phantom Lamborghini Murcielago BMW M6 Ferrari F430 Comparison

For instance, Rolls Royce Phantoms start at $340,000 and can approach up to $500,000. Rolls Royce sold 1000 cars in 2007. Rolls Royce cheapest car cost $340,000 but they still managed to sell 1000 of them. The SLR and the Maybach are the only cars Benz makes even remotely in Rolls price range.
Yet even with combined sales they don't even put up a dismal 300 units. Bugatti sells the $1.3 million Veyron Super car has sold 220 units. That is almost as many sales as Maybach and SLR put together. The sad part about that is that the Veyron cost 3 times more then either of those cars. You could buy the most expensive Maybach and the most expensive McLaren SLR and still have money left to buy a Murcielago LP640 for the price of a Veyron, yet Buggati still managed to sell nearly as many units as Mercedes' most prestigious vehicles with a car that cost 3 times as much.

Let's not even throw Ferrari, Lamborghini, or Bentley into the hat. Ferrari's start at $280,000 with the F430, Lamborghini starts at $260,000 with the Gallardo, and Bentley starts at $190,000 with the Continental GT. All of those car makers have $1 millon cars with the exception of Bentley who makes a half million dollar car. Ferrari sold over 6000 cars is 2007. Lamborghini sold 2400 cars in 2007 and Bentley sold over 10,000 cars in 2007. The 290 cars the Mercedes Benz sold in their uber-luxury category are not even statistically significant in comparison to their competitors. In order for Mercedes to be statistically significant they would have to at least sell 5% of what their competitors do in a similar category. Because Mercedes Benz cannot do that, the cars that they do make which are comparable, are not even worthy of discussion because the buying populous doesn't pay them any mind and they aren't statistically significant.

Honda Civic Hatchback Unveiled Ahead of Frankfurt Motor Show

The new generation of the European market 2012 Honda Civic hatchback will make its world premiere tomorrow at the 64th International Auto Show in Frankfurt, but the Japanese company is giving us our first view of the car with the release of the official photographs. The first thing you will notice about the 5-door Civic is of course its exterior styling. While Honda's designers kept the shape of the outgoing model intact, the devil is in the details, and whereas the previous Civic sported a futuristic styling with many creases and edges, its successor is frumpier with a lot more curves.
According to Honda, its designers "wanted to keep the sporty and advanced elements of the car's character but tailor them to express the new model's even more elegant yet dynamic feel", while the company adds that sources of inspiration included a "blended wing body" aeroplane (see picture below) in which the fuselage and wings blend into a single body.
Inside, the styling is very similar to the outgoing Civic 5d with a double layered dashboard combining both analogue and digital displays. Honda says it has improved interior quality as well as passenger space.
Under the sheetmetal, the ninth generation of the Civic sports a heavily revised version of the previous model's suspension system, which means it retains a rear torsion beam. Nevertheless, Honda's engineers claim that the reworked parts will improve the car's ride quality, comfort as well as handling and body control.
We're still waiting for more information on the available powertrains, but Honda previously disclosed that the 2012 Civic 5d will be offered with a revised 2.2-liter i-DTEC engine delivering 150HP, 10 more than the outgoing model's 2.2L CDTi unit. At the same time, CO2 emissions are down 29g/km to 110 g/km, 29 g/km.
Production of the European market hatchback will take place exclusively at Honda’s Swindon plant in the United Kingdom, with sales to start early next year.
